Hepatitis B Vaccine (3 Doses) [M2MED240068]
The vaccine is made from the outer protein of the hepatitis B virus and is administered intramuscularly in three doses at 0, 1, and 6 months. Who should receive it? - Individuals without immunity to hepatitis B. - All newborns in Thailand, as well as children who have not previously received the vaccine. - Adults at high risk of exposure, such as spouses of hepatitis B carriers, frequent blood recipients, dialysis patients, healthcare workers, drug users, men who have sex with men, and individuals with chronic liver or kidney disease. - Travelers to countries with high hepatitis B prevalence. - Children older than 10 years and adults should undergo a blood test before vaccination to check for pre-existing immunity. Who should not? - Those with a history of severe allergic reactions to a previous hepatitis B vaccine dose or its components. - Individuals with fever or acute illness should postpone vaccination until recovery. - People with mild colds without fever can still receive the vaccine.
